The Wisconsin Empathy Project (WEP) teaches students to see through another person’s eyes by first learning to see themselves more clearly.
Students who go through WEP leave as better listeners, stronger leaders, and more understanding neighbors. And WEP is more than a class. It is an ever-growing community. Our alumni carry this work into their professions, relationships, and communities—and some return to help the next generation shape their own empathy practices.
Your gift enables us to hire and train instructors so we can offer more sections and bring WEP to more students at UW-Milwaukee. With continued support, we hope to expand this work to other campuses across the state.
Beyond the classroom, we want to continue mentoring students who have completed the class, and your support makes that possible. Through student-designed empathy projects and internships, students can practice empathy more deeply, take on leadership roles, develop professional skills, and bring what they've learned to the communities they call their own.
Join us in growing this work and give today.
